16th November added a new chapter for Maharashtra and Gujrat Maritime Board as India’s first passenger vessel between Mumbai and Surat returned to its home port in Bandra, Mumbai under the Bandra-Worli Sealink after its inaugural run. Before this, an inaugural event for the launch of the cruise route between Surat – Mumbai was hosted at Hazira port in Surat on 15th November 2019 with dignitaries of Gujarat Maritime Board, Essar Bulk Terminal and other trade heads visiting the vessel.
At the event, Captain Praveen S Khara from Maharashtra Maritime Board was seen along with the CEO of Mumbai Maiden Cruise Sanjeev Agarwal as he escorted the dignitaries around the ship which had returned to Mumbai.
“It is the continuous efforts by the government towards enhancing tourism experience by exploring and adopting new techniques and Ideas. We welcome any new innovative idea in maritime domain and the Govt is fully committed to make it happen”,
said Captain Praveen Khara, Officer, Maharashtra Maritime Board.
Other than Captain Khara, actor, model, and Miss India Asia Pacific runner up 2017, Twinkle Sehgal who has been signed as the Brand Ambassador for the cruise, was also present at the event. She said,

Mumbai city has mesmerised people from all walks of life and around the world with its offering of the best in business, hospitality and it is only going to get better with more such infrastructural and travel and tourism development.”
Mumbai Maiden Cruise Ship has two levels and the upper deck. It has a restaurant/Club at the ground level of the ship to handle any F&B requirement. The ship also has a VIP Lounge/ banquet hall at the second level which is available for hosting events. The Upper deck offers a scenic view of the city’s horizon and the iconic Bandra Worli sealink in the backdrop as the port is under the Bandra – Worli Sealink itself.
It has all the amenities for the comfort of a passenger with well trained staff and equipment to oversee the safety and security onboard.

Initially this service will be weekly, and the vessel will be departing from Bandra Worli Sealink every Thursday around 5 in the evening and arriving Hazira on Friday morning around 9. It will depart from Hazira on Friday evening around 5 and arrive Bandra Worli Sealink the very next day at 9 in the morning. Number of trips will be increased as per the requirement.
The cover charges for cruising is Rs. 1400 per person, Rs. 2500 per couple, Rs. 6000 for 5 people and Rs. 10,000 for 10 people. Please note that these charges are only for cruising and once you get on board, you’ll have to order food and beverages separately.
This Mumbai Maiden Cruise will add brownie points in the tourism of Maharashtra and Gujrat as it offers a unique experience of two cities via sea route. The first commercial voyage of this vessel will take place on Thursday, 21 November 2019.
